Karen Nielsen, Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Director

Karen Nielsen is an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Director for Kinder Morgan, Inc., one of the largest energy infrastructure companies in North America.

Ms. Nielsen joined Kinder Morgan in 2008 and currently leads a team responsible for air quality permitting, compliance and greenhouse gas emissions management for the company’s natural gas and CO2 operations. Before assuming her current role, she held other positions within Kinder Morgan including director of corporate compliance, where she was responsible for EHS information technology systems and coordinating advocacy efforts for EHS and pipeline safety regulatory changes. Prior to joining Kinder Morgan, Ms. Nielsen served as an environmental consultant supporting various clients including those from the energy industry. 

Ms. Nielsen holds a Master of Science in Environmental Policy and Management from the University of Denver and a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies from the University of Minnesota Duluth.
