George Lowe is the Vice President, Governmental Affairs and Public Policy at American Gas Association. He brings his extensive legislative experience to AGA, having worked in the United States Senate for more than a decade.
For eleven years, George worked for the late United States Senator Ted Stevens (R-AK), serving as his Chief of Staff from 2005 to 2009. He was also the Senator’s Legislative Director and Chief Counsel. George served as Chief of Staff to United States Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) during her successful reelection in 2004, one of the closest races in the country that year.
From 2009 to 2012, George managed his own consulting firm, Lowe Strategies LLC which specialized in energy, commerce, defense and homeland security issues, providing strategic advice on issues before congress and the Administration including policy planning, legislative advocacy and crisis management.
George has a Bachelors of Science from The University of Oregon and a law degree from The University of San Diego School of Law. He currently sits on the board of the Public Affairs Council, the Overlee Preschool Association, and Republicans Associated for Mutual Support (RAMS), a group of current and former GOP chiefs of staff. As Past President of the RAMS, George also sits on the Council of Ewes. George and his wife, Jennifer, have three children and reside in Arlington, VA.
